"Entrance Hall of Mr Chas. Green's house, Savannah Ga, now occupied as Head Quarters by Gen Sherman" by William Waud, This is his original illustration, which was adapted into an engraving for Harper's Weekly's January 21, 1865 issue.
I kept the restoration light; only removing the most obvious damage, and adjusting the colours slightly.. I'm pretty sure, though, that the white he used stained brown with age; but I thought that might be a step too far, so refrained. Paper colour is educated guesswork - the Library of Congress scans of Waud's work (this one is available at [link] ) vary between greenish grey and blueish grey, and none of them have a colour box, so I took an educated guess.
You may have noticed I'm on a bit of a Sherman kick. But, hey, what's wrong with Sherman?
