Another of my restorations of old artworks, this one originally produced for Wikipedia a while ago, but appearing here for the first time. I think that it took me about 3-5 hours, but it's been a while now. The original Library of Congress scan ( [link] ) was rather dirty, wrinkled, and otherwise damaged, but it cleaned up fairly readily with a bit of work.

Well, on to the image itself: I love it. It's a 1917 American propoganda poster by William Allen Rogers (1854-1931). A bit over the top, but in a rather interesting and almost charming way. It reminds me of Angus McLeod's work on here. [link]

The reference is, of course, the sinking of the Luisitania and similar; compare [link]
