Restoration of a c. 1870 illustration of the 1870 Siege of Paris
Also, it should really be Siège in the title. Why you can't include an accent, I dunno.
This is a work by Renard Jules Draner (1833-1926), a French artist, documenting life in Bastion 95 during the Siege of Paris, part of the Franco-Prussian War.
I believe the colours are accurate, at least to how it was originally: The Library of Congress, which I got the scan from ( [link] ) doesn't always include a colourcube, and I've done enough where they did include one to know their scans are uncalibrated. This is probably the intended colours, and I've saved a few backups in case I'm shown wrong.
Approximately 12 hours' restoration work: There were a LOT of brown spots.
