Why did Sherman stop marching when he reached the sea?
Because he couldn't get it to catch fire.
Restoration of the out-of-copyright c. 1868 image of Sherman's March to the Sea by Felix Octavius Carr Darley, (1822-1888, artist) and Alexander Hay Ritchie (1822-1895, engraver) - Both of whom also signed it, though Ritchie's is very faded. The scan is very, very large; the Library of Congress - which offers copyright-free scans of their collections - is such a wonderful resource. The original file is available at [link]
This image shows how Sherman created new jobs in the construction, transport, and communications industries throughout large swathes of the South. Indeed, whole new cities were built in his wake, where nothing but the ruins existed before he left.
Yeah, I'll stop the jokes.
By the way, the category's inaccurate - this is pretty obviously copper plate engraving, but that's not one of the opitions.
